Co-hosted and co-organized by the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) and Youtheca USA, ISSCY, annually held, aims to challenge high school students around world to pursue a research project on one of the research fields from humanities and social sciences. Some of the popular fields are, but are not limited to, history, philosophy, economics, journalism and sociology.
ISSCY consists of two rounds, preliminary and final. For the former, you need to submit a 500-word research proposal to a panel of judges. Once yours is selected, you then need to submit a final research paper, exceeding, at least 1,500 words. Based on a review by the judges, your research work can be selected as one of the 80+ submissions by other participants and published in the ISSCY’s Online Journal accordingly. What a great honor to have an opportunity to be able to publish your own research work while still in high school! For your information, ISSCY is among the very few essay competitions that offer secondary students to gain research experience and knowledge. The deadline for submissions of preliminary proposals is TBD. Check out here to find out about ISSCY in great detail.
